POETRY SLAM
A PERFORMANCE OF POETRY BY READERS

POETRY READERS OF ALL AGES READ THEIR FAVORITE POEMS ALOUD
Join us for an inspiring evening of creativity, community, and poetic expression at the first-ever Green River Academy Poetry Slam, hosted in partnership with the Todd County Public Library. This free event celebrates National Poetry Month—a global literary tradition recognizing the profound impact of poetry in our lives.
POETRY SLAM
A Poetry Reading Event for Students and Adults
Hear powerful, moving, humorous, and thought-provoking poems read aloud by local students, educators, and community members. Each participant will share either an original work or a meaningful favorite, creating a rich tapestry of voices and perspectives.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Nancy Dye, former educator of English and history at TCCHS, and Carolyn Wells, another former English educator at TCCHS, reached out to the Todd County Public Library and to the Green River Academy, a non-profit whose goal is to promote the arts, to host a “Poetry Slam” event honoring this important literary genre.
