Book Proceeds to Benefit Academy
Elkton, KY, (December 2, 2025) - Former Todd County English instructor Carolyn Wells has released her new book, Notables of Todd County, II, a richly illustrated, 10-by-10 coffee-table format volume devoted to the lives, landmarks, and memories that have shaped Todd County’s past. The new book became available on November 29 with a launch and signing event held at the Old Todd County Courthouse in Elkton. Wells has made the Green River Academy the beneficiary of the proceeds from the sale of her book.
Notables of Todd County, II
With this second volume, Wells continues a long-held passion for documenting Todd County’s heritage, a calling she first acted on with previous works such as “T is for Todd County” and the original Notables of Todd County.
Wells’ Notables of Todd County, II is a project that presents over 35 entries, including people, historic places, personal memories, and noteworthy events, each rendered with respect and attention to detail. The format is designed to invite readers to browse and reconnect with the county’s past, offering a glimpse into Todd County’s unique heritage.
The project came to life thanks to the early support of seed-money donors and the dedicated efforts of Laura Brock. The book was designed and printed by Jostens of Clarksville, Tennessee.
For those wishing to purchase a copy of Notables of Todd County, II, the book is currently available at:
Hip Harvest — Elkton, KY
Something Special — Elkton, KY
Main Street Market — Guthrie, KY
Wells hopes local residents, history enthusiasts, and visitors to Todd County will treasure the volume as both a coffee-table centerpiece and a starting point for conversation and remembrance.
